Bone-tailed Mers:
A unique race of merpeople. Bone-tails are shy, gentle creatures. Bone-tails are fairly frail and if cornered, struggle to defend themselves. They primarily use their appearance to scare off predators, but that doesn't always work. All Bone-tails are hermaphroditic. During reproduction each parent bears young in the form of eggs. Laying can be very taxing on the Bone-tails and makes them very vulnerable unless they are lucky enough to find a save area to lay. The parents often stay close to their clutch while they develop even if they can't do much to protect them. When born, the young's tails are fused and they closely resemble average fish. They have no arms, only tiny fins. As they grow their arms develop and their tail separates. They are easy prey for larger creatures.
